Anton Van WykEnd-time leadership in the SDA context Session 2 & Session 3 Leadership is the art to convert vision into reality. “The business of Faith is to convert truth into reality” - Oswald Chambers. Uniting the Silo’s. Casting a compelling vision in the End-times Crafting a life plan Session 4 We plan our careers, the building of a new home, or even a vacation, but only a few of us have a plan for our lives. We so easily become spectators, watching our lives unfold one date at a time. As a result we end up discouraged and disillusioned, wondering where we went wrong. But it doesn’t have to be this way. You can live your life on purpose. Experience this transformational journey - the process of creating and regularly reviewing your Life Plan. |

Ed GallagherHow can I lead if they won’t follow? Unit 1: Leadership in the Shadow Session 1 & Session 4 Leadership in the church is different from leadership in a corporation. The shadow of our own weakness darkens the light we hope to shine for others. The leader’s refuge and strength must be found under another shadow—the shadow of the Almighty. Unit 2: The Gift of Spiritual Direction Session 2 & Session 5 The leader’s most important task is to grow other leaders. How can I, as a leader, help someone else grow in spirit and discipleship? Often this seems like a lost cause. But in some ways it is the only cause, and through the power of God’s Spirit it will not be lost. |

Garth BainbridgeThe Welcoming Church Session 1 Imagine coming to the front door of a Seventh-day Adventist church for the first time—what would make you feel welcome? You sit through Sabbath School—anything here that makes you want to come back? The Worship Service—when to stand up, sit down, kneel, sing or shut up? Everyone else seems to know everyone else, but you...? How can you make your church a welcoming place for the first-timer? Self leadership Session 2 Spiritual leadership is much more about personal qualities than about amazing skills. Before you can lead others well, you must first know how to lead yourself. Learn in this workshop how to be spiritually, physically, emotionally and relationally healthy; how to keep a clear head and a loving heart; and how to stay on the growing edge so that you can help others grow. Preaching Session 3 So you’ve been asked to preach! How do you decide what to preach about? How do you go about preparing to preach? What makes some sermons really powerful and life-changing, and others as inspiring as a documentary on The Wheatfields of Canada or as relevant as Quantum Physics to a jungle monkey? Learn the art of making the ancient Scriptures come alive in the experience of a modern generation. Leading effective small groups Session 5 The key word is “effective”. What does an effective group look like and what makes it that way? How do you start a small group, and how do you keep it going and growing? How do you deal with group members who are disruptive or destructive to the life of the group? Learn to understand the dynamics of a group and how to use small groups to disciple people for Jesus. |

Jean-Noel AdelineTHEME: “Born Again to Evangelize!” The biblical model for personal evangelism was relatively simple for Jesus’ disciples and followers. They followed their Lord and spontaneously shared their faith with whomever they met. So, the big question is, ‘what makes us reluctant to the same in our present world?’ Why is it becoming harder and harder for the so called Christians to share Christ to others. In the midst of a generation screaming for answers, why are believers, including our Seventh day Adventist people stuttering? Why does, “Evangelism scares us!” like many like to say? “Born Again to Evangelize”, will combine practical advice and inspiration in order to help you integrate evangelism in your daily routine, in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ easily and effectively to others. As a result of your sharing, you will grow more into spiritual maturity and your church will blossom. Session 1 1. Why not do Evangelism? (Part 1) 2. Why not do Evangelism?(Part 2) Session 2 3. What is Evangelism? 4. How to Begin? Part 1 - Receiving the Spirit Session 3 5. How to Begin? Part 2 - Intercessory Prayer 6. How to Begin? Part 3 - Establishing Bridges Session 4 7. How to share your Testimony? 8. How to present the Gospel? |
