Spirit Led 2010

We are still flying high after a phenomenal weekend of worship, praise, workshops and an awesome sense of a community of believers who came together with hearts that were searching and seeking to enrich their walk with God.

Spirit Led 2010 – Live Worship, kicked off at Tui Ridge Park on the 8th of October to a full house of over 205 delegates. The Speaker for the event, Pr. Peter Casillas, Pastor at the Life Source Adventist Fellowship in Denver, walked us through a journey that led to a discovery of what True Worship really is. Peter brought home the message that 'Worship is not something we bring to God, since worship comes only from Him. It is in being with Him, in His presence that worship flows through our life and from our life into action......we then want people to 'come and hear'". Stories of the Woman at the Well, the Crippled Man by the Pool of Bethsaida, were used to reinforce the message that True Worship begins where man meets the Saviour.

When we first started putting together the concept for Spirit Led, Pr Eddie Tupa'i asked the question; "What if the preparation for, the attendance at, the passion of and the engagement in our worship gatherings were to raise ten percent (well for that matter why not 30-50 %?). What would that do to our everyday living worship"? It is this concept that we built on, wanting not just to equip our church leaders with resources and skills to enhance and add to the worship services in our local churches, but also to give them a sense of refreshing and an understanding of what True Worship really is.

The Spirit Led weekend was a culmination of the vision, prayers and dreams of the team behind the event. The Plenary sessions were designed to draw individual hearts to the place where True Worship begins, in the presence of Jesus. The Workshops were a combination of practical seminars that provided the leaders with tools to make worship experiences in their churches more meaningful in the areas of Multigenerational Worship, Music, IT, Audio and Preaching. Brendan Pratt our Guest Presenter taught on subjects such as Discipleship and Spiritual Pathways.

In our final meeting on Sunday all the delegates present broke out into groups of no more than 4 individuals, where they were coached through a process of acknowledging all the things they learned through the course of the weekend, identifying the key points of learning and urged to commit to one key initiative they they would put into action within 72 hours after leaving Spirit Led.

The North New Zealand Conference is on an intentional journey to Build Godly Leaders who grow Healthy Adventist Churches who in turn Serve their Communities. This weekend was a testament to the truth that the people in our churches are committed to making changes where needed so we can grow as a community of believers that share Jesus in this world.

We want to say a big Thank you to each and every one who was present over the weekend. Keep that candle burning! Never get comfortable enough in your walk with the Lord. There is a world out there filled with people who are thirsty and hungry for the truth and don't even know it. Give them Jesus, lead them to the true source of Worship.
