Southern Pathfinder Rally - May 1, 2010
One of the most enjoyable sites is seeing over 150 Pathfinders and Adventurers gather for the Southern Pathfinder and Adventurer Rally. Our theme for the day was "iTune In" and Pastor Jake Ormsby's message to our Pathfinders was the necessity to tune into God each day as we walk with Him. At the Rally we had the privilege to welcome 2 newly formed clubs – Wellington and Manawatu and both of them are big clubs! During the Church service we enjoyed items, video presentations, pictures and verbal testimonies of what each of our clubs are doing and we saw how busy our clubs have been this year and the passion and dedication of the leaders showed through in the presentations. In the afternoon our pathfinders enjoyed outdoor hands on activities that dovetailed into the theme of "iTune In"
Northern Pathfinder Rally – May 15 2010
Finding a venue to cater for 650 Pathfinders and Parents is indeed a wonderful challenge to have and one we faced on May 15 for the Northern Pathfinder Rally that was held at the Baptist church in Manukau. It is truly fantastic to see so many Pathfinders and there is no doubt that there is a collective blessing by coming together in this way, and it is indeed an impressive sight to see all our Pathfinders, leaders and parents march by the Platform party and post the flags. Our theme for the day was the same as it was for the Southern Rally – I Tune into God". Our aim for the day was to help all our young people to Tune into God despite the clutter we have in our lives. Tuning into God was assisted with wonderful music by our Pathfinders that lead us all into worship. We had a wonderful time of interaction with our Pathfinders who were not shy in sharing or presenting special items and it was great to hear what some of our Clubs are doing in their local Church. Our guest speaker was our Division Youth Leader Pr Nick Kross who delivered an excellent message and practical tips to help our teenagers Tune into God each day. The rain came and so we were unable to have our hands on activity that was planned, so we remained inside and all our Pathfinders learned all about Bats and completed their Bat honour.
