Teens Speaker
Litiana Turner

Litiana Turner (nee Qiosese) originates from Wainibuka in Fiji, she grew up in Australia and has lived and worked in Australia, New Zealand and England.

She currently works as the Associate Director for Youth Ministries at the South Pacific Division. Litiana is married to John Turner and they have three teenage children.

Prior to her return to Australia in December 2005, Litiana was the Deputy Principal of Auckland SDA High School in Mangere Bridge.

Litiana loves to sing, travel , camp and spend time with family and friends. Her greatest daily challenge is the adventure of pursuing and spending time in Gods’ presence.

Jeremiah 29:11 is her favourite passage of scripture and it is her desire that every teenager she comes into contact with will know and believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that God made them for a significant purpose at this time in the world’s history. Her prayer is that the teens at Big Camp will see that they can be World Changers all they need to do is to spend time with God on a daily basis!

Litiana is a firm believer and advocate for the fact that when God calls you to a role in life, school or work then HE will equip you for the space He called you to fill.

Juniors Speaker
Ken Weslake

Ken Weslake comes originally from Norfolk Island. That makes him a mutineer not a convict!

After completing his primary teacher training at LAC, he worked as a school principal in a variety of Adventist schools in the North Island. During this time he spent four years in Papua New Guinea as a School Supervisor and Mission Pilot.

He currently is the associate Education Director for the South Pacific Division. This means oversight of 60,000 students in more than 350 schools from Tahiti to Perth and Kiribati to Invercargill. He is passionate about making all of our schools truly Seventh-day Adventist, right from policies to teachers, to the total school and classroom environment.

Ken is married to one wife, Julie. They have four children and five grandchildren. Together they want our children growing up to love Jesus with all their heart, mind and body.

Ken’s other hobbies include anything to do with aviation, jogging if it’s not too cold or dark and mowing lawns!

Ken strongly believes that before every child is born God has a plan written out for their lives. He enjoys encouraging young people to discover what that great plan is and then doing all they can to live it out in their lives.

Primary Speaker
Julie Weslake

Julie Weslake is a Kiwi with over 15 years teaching experience from preschool through to tertiary. The last 10 years she has devoted to the ministry of children and currently she is the Director of Children’s Ministries for the South Pacific Division. This has enabled her to connect with, learn from, and serve, world Children’s leaders and those from around our own Unions.

Julie would love to see every child a disciple of Jesus. She knows that to make this happen our churches, homes and schools need to make a huge investment in this most strategic age group. She believes that the home is one of the most important influences in a child’s spiritual development and would love to see confident and equipped parents.

Julie is the proud mother of four great kids and an even prouder grandma of 4 ¾ grandchildren. She remembers with joy the camp meetings she attended as a child and is looking forward to getting to know the Primary children and their parents at NNZ Big Camp.
